Some of you have highly recommended the TI/IC flightsuit from Costume base on the 'bay. I am hearing that the suit is great unless you happen to be an exceptionally tall individual, which I'm not, at just a shade under 5'11". So that might be my best option, aside from enlisting the help of JRS' detachment tailor, from whom I am currently awaiting a reply and a quote.

The bigger question is my IC cap. Costume base offers one, but I have found no reviews of it on the forums, and I have no eye for spotting something in soft-parts that might be off.

Any thoughts?

I'm 6' tall and have three CB suits. Get the XXL, you'll be okay. His flightsuits cannot be beaten for the price. Haven't ever seen one of his caps in person, but the pics look okay; I've certainly seen worse. The price is pretty good; why don't you get one and review it for us?

Heidi has one of his hats and jumpsuits.

By the way, if you do order the jumpsuit:

1) Its not so much that they are not good for tall people, its that the torso of the suit seems short. I'm slightly taller than you but i have a longer torso. The suit was uncomfortable in certain areas. The only way to see if it will work is to get one and try it or try on someone's who has one. In any case, it can always be taken in and adjusted, which is better than creating one from scratch.

2) Try him at "Make and Offer" instead of "Buy it Now." He shot down a $45 offer from me, but accepted a $50 one.

Fantastic! Yeah, depending on what happens in a few hours with this action for some boots, I will be picking that up right soon. Gonna grab the cap, too.

Are the greeblies he includes on the hat pretty acceptable? I only ask because another item on my to-do list is picking up TIE chestbox 'milled' pieces and a couple of code cylinders from ET, and if the ones on the hat need replacing I can kill two birds with one stone.

For hat greeblies and other milled aluminum pieces, contact Kenny the Elvis trooper.

That's the one. I've become accustomed to not 'naming names', hence the 'ET' abbreviation.

OK, guys. Got the Costumebase black TIE flight-suit today, and (wah wah wahhhhhh) doesn't fit. It's long, which I don't care about. The seat is fine. I got a XXL, and it's just too tight around my waist. I looked at the measurements of this suit before I bought it and decided that it would be fine, but I guess I was wrong. It's super snug when I am standing, and when I sit I feel like a summer sausage. There really isn't enough fabric at the seams to take it out at all.

In short, I could wear it, but I'd be uncomfortable and afraid of busting it.

So what I have decided to do if I can't get an exchange for a bigger size is to make my own. The good thing is that I can use the pockets on this suit as a pattern (something which no one has previously been able to offer me) to make pockets to go on a standard work cover-all. Shouldn't be too complicated.

If this works out, is there anyone interested in buying a costumebase flight-suit? I won't need to de-construct the suit to make patterns. And I'll just sell it for what I paid, which was $55.

Also, I got the black officer's cap. It's good, no complaints aside from the greeblie looking not-so-great, which I kind of knew just by the picture. Once I steam the wrinkles out and starch it it should look great.
